The cheapest and easiest method is Outlook Archive. I assume you are using Outlook (2003/2007/2010) as your email client, come with it the Archiving feature that can be used at individual mailbox level.<br />

If you want something more &quot;centralised&quot;, I have come across Mailsafe - which gives you standard feature of archiving, and option to &quot;tag&quot; emails so that email can be shared. I have their contact if you need :)

Barracuda is looking like the one they are focusing on. I read something about high I/O issues with the Barracuda...... &nbsp;has any one had any resource issues as a result of using the Barracuda for archieving emails??<br />

Does anyone know if the Barracuda has an export feature so that down the line, if we replace it with something else there is a way to get all the mail from one to the other device?? I'm also reading about concerns with slow searches or a lack of horsepower.....anyone experience this with the archiver from Barracuda??<br />

there is talk of upgrading our server possibly in the next year or so from SBS 2003 to SBS2011 and it was mentioned that Email Archiving was now included in the OS? Has anyone had the opportunity to work with this yet for archiving vs an additional appliance?

We are running SBS 2003 and we have about 81 mailboxes total....a little more then we should but it is what it is. We need to find a simple solution for email archiving, be it by software or with an appliance, that isn't too expensive. Looking for recommendations related to small office solutions in this area?
