outlook 2010

JeffBeall used Ask the Experts™
i updated someone at work to office 2010, and now he can't open .xnk files. i found that .xnk files are outlook 2003 files that were dragged and dropped to the desktop. he is still running winxp pro, and i tried creating a new file extension, but when outlook tries to open the file i get this error
"The command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch you are using."
i didn't use any switches when i made the new extension though.
any ideas?

This can maybe help you:

Place the NK2 file into the same location as the Outlook.pst file.
Click Start and type in outlook.exe /importnk2
That will bring it into the Suggested contacts folder in Outlook 2010 that is used as the new NK2 file.
this may help: - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980542
Also make sure that the *.nk2 is called the same as the PST file you are trying to import into.

these are .xnk files
not nk2 files -
i've worked with the nk2 files
