I checked the event log and found the following events:

Information Store (3700) MyStorageGroup: The version store for this instance (1) has reached its maximum size of 108Mb. It is likely that a long-running transaction is preventing cleanup of the version store and causing it to build up in size. We have a virtual Exchange 2003 Enterprise Server running on Windows 2003. I researched on the web but couldn't find a satisfying solution.  Any guess?  I'm a bit worried as the system is quite critical.

yes, we have BES in use but that works fine.  At the moment everything seems to work fine, but Exchange IS errors in the event log worry me a lot :-(

There is no account locked out and all objects have the correct permissions in respect to their mailbox.
"johndoe@microsoft.com"
ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=JDoe.
 are all errors related to that user ?

Thank you GhouseAdmin, that blog seems to explain exactly my issues.  We decided to try a reboot of the Exchange Server during this weekend.  I will keep you posted if that helped out.  If not, we will try an offline defrag.

Cheers

Hi all,

I would like to thank you all for your support.  The errors appeared 2 nights and the suddenly stopped.  So the errors and warning 602 and 623 in the application event log don't appear anymore.  Therefore we decided not to restart the exchange server.

Thanks also to GhouseAdmin for the link, that was very helpful!
