Raid rebuild

How do I do a RAID rebuild?  I have a client who is presently running on a replacement HD that went down and they want to get another HD to replace the first one and it requires a RAID rebuld, but I don't know the procedure.

Before unplugging any hard drive in a the RAID set, please check out first what RAID configuration is on the system.
I wanted to know if I leave both the new and old HD in place for this?  Also, how can I figure out what RAID is installed?  Lastly, how long should this take?

I would assume that the system is still functioning.  If that is the case, you have to log into the server and check the current configuration of the system.  When you know what RAID is currently on, we will remove the defunct hard drive accordingly.

When you are there, let us know the details of the system.  That way we could guide you through finding the RAID configuration on it.

Depending on the size of the hard drives, it could take a few hours to rebuild a RAID.
