Mac - Iphone true email sync
Ok, made the move to iphone from android and mobileme has made my life easy with syncing calendar, contacts etc from macbookpro to iphone. HOWEVER... the email is lacking. Â I have multiple email accounts on my own domains, as well as a me.com and gmail and hotmail accounts.
What I need to do.
Like I can sync the last 6 months (or whatever I choose) of photos to the iphone through Itunes, I need to sync the last 6 months of email, in whatever folder it is in, and I do seperate things out of the inbox. Â even better would to make all emails simultaneously available on both iphone and mac, including sent mail from either platform. Â Any ideas on how to make this possible?
I'm using Site5 to host my domains if that makes a difference

Not unless you are using exchange or mobile me.
You can certainly do this.
Generally, aside from exchange activesync (which you may be able to use for your hotmail account), the answer is to use IMAP mail instead of POP.
Gmail offers IMAP, as does site5 (http://www.site5.com/support/kb/email-clients-setting-up-your-email-with-site5/).
The accounts on your iphone may already be set up for IMAP, but you would have to make new settings in your desktop mail accounts.

Thanks,
That would work, although I have always wanted to have my email reside in my device, and not be in the "cloud". Â That said, I'm willing to change that!
But here is another part of it. Can  I syn the "On My Mac" folders I use to organize my mail, or is there another way to seperate out business and other mails and such.  basically, any way to sync mail that is already on the mac...
Also, using Imap would keep current mails in all places, but does deleting it from any one device delete a mail from the server?
