I am trying to create a html page using CSS that has a left navigation column that has the same height as the main content columns.  However, when I build the page the left navigation column (which has a different background coumn than the main content) does not extend the length of hte page.  How can I do this?

try setting the height to 100% which would be as tall as the page is and also in theory as tall as the main content.

Most of the time it is a mix of height and float properties.

If you could post a link or your HTML and CSS we could help you more efficiently.

Have a look at this website http://buildinternet.com/2009/07/four-methods-to-create-equal-height-columns/ , and you will find possible solutions. I recommend to use second method, it's the simplest, don't worry about javascript.
