Make logo permanent in Excel with protected sheets
We have an Excel workbook which we give clients the ability to unprotect the sheets and modify when they need to. The workbook is branded with the client's logo, which currently is a JPG. We have not found a way to make the JPG permanent, which runs the risk that this workbook will be available to non-clients. Is there a way that we can allow them to unprotect the sheet but not edit/delete the logo?
Whatever protection you apply in excel, there are always ways to break into it. Your scenario is worse. It provides for "unlocking". So be assured that even casual users of the sheet (not power users) would be able to play with the logo.
How about a VB macro that each time the user tried to print, that it inserted the original logo; or put a footer stating Property of: xxxx? The VB code protected with different password. Is that type of VB code possible upon a print command?
Microsoft Excel topics include formulas, formatting, VBA macros and user-defined functions, and everything else related to the spreadsheet user interface, including error messages.
