cycle power on the printer & kill all existing print jobs to it.

That didn't help. I even pulled out the ac cord to the printer and waited 10 seconds

I'd try updating the driver. Otherwise you may have hardware issues. I assume all print jobs are gibberish.

Only some websites are gibberish. Word docs are fine, etc.
It could be the actual browser? Depending on what you are using try another. i.e. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, GreenBrowser?

Also maybe check/re-install java?

Problem is unique to Firefox 4.0.1 which I installed recently as an update.
Either roll it back or use alternative, it looks like 4.0 was also affected. Looks like they've messed us the rastering - They've not responded to anything on their forum from what I see, HP have though.

Basically the expert helped me determine that it was a Firefox 4 update problem. I uninstalled it and reinstalled version 3.6 and all printing is fine now

Printers and Scanners

A printer is a peripheral which makes a persistent human readable representation of graphics or text on paper or similar physical media. Traditional printers are being used more for special purposes, like printing photographs or artwork, and are no longer a must-have peripheral; 3D printing has become an area of intense interest, allowing the creation of physical objects. An image scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image. Hand-held scanners, where the device is moved by hand, have evolved from text scanning "wands" to 3D scanners used for industrial design, reverse engineering, test and measurement, orthotics, gaming and other applications.
