Also make sure to take out mail.mydomain.local. That is not needed.

Also make sure you have the sub domain of mail.mydomain.com setup on your hosting site pointing to your server.

You don't need mail.mydomain.local.
Also you need to have an A record for mail.mydomain.com

then go to recepient config-->right click a user --> email adress --> UNmark the thick "automatically update the email address...." now you can add an email adress, enter user1@yourdomain.com and then click ok, then click the new email address, and click on " set as reply"

now that is the default address

i did all before
open exchange management console
in the left pane select organization config. --> hub transport --> accepted domains-->
here you enter your .COM domain

then select send connectors-->new send connector-->choose a name, and select INTERNET-->next next next

then choose Server configuration-->client access-->outlook web app--> right click owa(default)-->properties -->enter the internal & external url (this is also the .COM)

this is because you do not have a dns record on your internal domain i assume?
on your internal dns you need a fwd lookup to .com
and enter:
mail.domain.com and point it to the exchange server
