Unable to delete the NTservice for SQL *Net V2 Listener

I want ot recover an old that that is stored an an old database . so I have to install oracle  7.3.4 to restore recreate the database.
I am using windows 2003 Server, where I also have an Oracle 9 database running.
should that be the reason .

Could be. I'd recommend you use VMware and install v7 on its own clean server.

There is a listed workaround here, but I think you may endanger your 9i setup if you do.

I would use a clean box myself.

- if you have trouble installing Oracle 7, the following link is the workaround of the "Unable to delete the NTservice for SQL *Net V2 Listener" by Marius Grigoriu:

- you can actually use the dump/export file from 7.3.4 and import into database 10.X and 11.X use each respective version import file to do the import. no need to install Oracle 7. however you need to have latest patch installed to the database which require you have account with oracle support.
- you can read  the import and patches information in metalink ID 132904.1
