There is a cnc machine that needs to access a mapped drive and has no proper keyboard to do anything with. It has always just logged onto the SBS 2003 with a blank password as we could not configure it any other way as it NT 4.0 workstation which i believe wont work with SBS 2011 but all it needs is a IP address and mapped drive.
You may have difficulty getting an NT4 machine to work with SBS 2011 *at all* due to changes in Microsoft's security model and minimum negotiation levels. Keeping that NT4 machine on your network is a significant security vector and I'd strongly encourage you to consider finding *some* way to migrate whatever services it hosts to a more modern OS and machine (that you can add a proper keyboard to.)

After all, think of it this way, if that machine dies due to a hardware failure, what is your disaster recovery plan in such an event? If this is a *necessary* peice of equipment, you have more significant issues than just a blank password or even a missing keyboard. You have a reliance on a single point of failure that you cannot migrate or recover from if that failure should actually occur. VERY bad news.

Absolutely there is no plan othr than we copy the HDD as the machine is years old with no support anymore. Ah well was just a thought i am going to have to move the data elsewhhere for it to rwad it
An answer of "you cannot do this" is still a valid answer and not the same as not receiving any answer at all. A question was asked, an accurate answer given, and should be accepted for futue EE users who find this question in searches.

Ok no problem, I have changed the policy and it now allows the machine to logon without a password and connect to its mapped drive. The support company for the machine have no plans which i think is mad to change the machines as as far as they are conecerned it works perfectely!
