Cisco NEXUS 7000 Management Compared to 6513

I am working with a customer to configure a Nexus 7000 switch.  I have read the documentation but not sure I full understand the managment interface (CP, CMP, etc.)  Can some one give me a Readers Digest version of what the managment interfaces are and how they differ from typical 6513 Supervisor enginer?

The CMP is a separate processor on the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series supervisor module that is in addition to the main control processor (CP). The CMP provides a second network interface to the device for use even when the CP is not reachable. You can access the CMP to configure it and to perform system operations, such as taking over the CP console or restarting the CP.
