Best hardware to choose for network efficiency

Current setup:

ISP (T1 connection) -> ASA 5505 -> 2 non-managed, basic switches -> 40 workstations (including a Windows 2003 Server that handles DNS)

New Setup:

ISP (10MB Dedicated connection) -> ASA5505 -> ? -> 40 workstations (including a Windows 2003 Server that handles DNS)

==========================

I have recently upgraded our internet connection to a 10MB dedicated connection.  My previous setup using the ASA5505 firewall as a firewall and router works reasonably well, but I want to maximize the efficiency of this new higher-speed dedicated connection to its fullest potential.

My thoughts are to add a cisco router and a cisco managed switch or two.

I am looking for suggestions for somewhat older/used hardware (to keep costs to a minimum) but that would also allow me to utilize this bandwidth in the best manner possible.

Thank you for your time.

ASA5505 can handle 10Mbps connection without any issues and it will not be your limiting factor with that speed. I would rather look into your internal switches and depending on their performance see if upgrading is necessary.

I suggest you add only 1 C3750G and conenct all your servers, printers and firewall to switch and replace basic switches with 2non managed switches.

Adding C3750G will give you 1000 MBPS speed, VLAN option (future), 4 SFP (Fiber Option), Ether Channels (Multi Connection), VTP domain and many more.
