Unable to delete Filemaker record
I occasionally encounter a rogue record in my database that will not allow me to delete it with the following error message: "This operation cannot be performed because one or more required related tables are missing." I have tried filling fields with formatted dummy data with no change. Is there a way to override the error and delete anyway? If not, how should I troubleshoot the related tables?

I can add and delete new records routinely. Periodically, when a record should delete, it gives that error message. I have about two dozen fields that display data from a related table. I need the data in the related table, but only two fields are primary keys. The primary/foreign keys match and should allow deletion.

With over 100 "missing" and "unknown" links and relationships to track down, this is an excellent tool but will keep me busy a few more days as it has for a couple already.
I cannot create a problematic record yet since I have not discovered the trigger. My normal process for creation and deletion works well.

You need to note the layout you are on when you fail to delete a record. Now look at the table occurrance that this layout is based on. That information should be the starting point for checking the relationship issues.

Thanks. I found several occurrences of broken relationships and table names I had changed in the past but wasn't using that were creating problems. I also discovered a logic board and/or hard drive issue with my MacBook Pro since the file works on a Mac Mini without as many problems and crashes.

Sounds odd. First questions that spring to mind are:
- can you create a new record on that layout and delete it (i.e., is it only one specific record that won't delete)?
- do you even have fields on the layout that belong to a related table?
