Creating a failover for Exchange 2003

We currently have an ageing server running MS Exchange 2003
What I would like to do is move this to another server and create a failover to the older server.

Is this possible and will it eliminate tedious issues I get when restoring emails to the database?

Could somebody please tell me what the correct process is to do this? even just creating a copy of the database so that if a corruption happens I can just copy it back?
And over night it copies itself across?

Hope this makes sense?
