No internet access after virus

I'm working on a laptop that had 2 viruses, which were removed by the antivirus program, but the laptop still has no internet access. The local and wireless network connections will connect but not websites load. I've already done a reset of all of the IE settings and windows firewall settings in case the virus set things to block traffic. What else can I check to resolve this? Thanks.

Can you connect in safe mode with networking? I would also try to run my scans for antivirus, malware, and spyware in safe mode too.

What is your os?  If it is XP, try running the Winsockxpfix:

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

Check your hosts file.  Reset to Microsoft defaults with Hostsxpert:

Rogue Killer offers options to check DNS, hosts file, proxy server  and more:

Great article here:

Post the result of a scan here.

Are you sure the virus is completely gone?

Scan with Mbam and post a scan log for review:
