iPad setup

I have a friend who just bought an iPad and asked me to set it up for him.  He just wants me to get it going and setup his pop emiail account on it.  I have no experience with iPads (he is quite tech averse, which is why he wants me to do it) so my question is, can I do these basic setup steps at my shop, or will I need to do it at his houes on his PC which has his iTunes account on it?

Thanks.

You can configure the ipad free from iTunes. You will need to get it connected wireless and then setup the pop information in the Email settings. The only configuration that may need to change when he takes it home is the wifi settings for his house if it is using an encrypted connection.
I took delivery of one yesterday at the office and setup there.  I haven't even connected it to my home PC yet.
It may well ask to be connected to iTunes as mine did (after I'd installed it on my work Laptop) but this did not "pair" the unit with my Laptop.

Any apps that you want to install can be downloaded directly to the iPad but you will need his iTunes account details for this.

yes you can setup a email account by simply going to settings then (mail, contacts, calendars) and clicking add account. select other for pop accounts
go to settings then general then email type the info as necessary and also proxy setings if you have a proxy.

I ended up bringing it back to his house so I could sync it to his iTunes.
