Having an issue with a Pavillion dv4 dv4t-1400 LCD
The issues seems to be when the users tilts the notebook lcd to a comfortable position the screen goes blank. However when you tilt the screen forward almost to the point that the screen is closed (maybe 2 inches from the KB) the screen comes on fine and stays on...it only goes blank again when you open the lid back up to a comfortable reading position. Not sure if this is an issue with the LCD or the MB....also not sure if this is related but the notebook is about 2 years old...works fine off a power cord but once you pull the cord out it shuts off completely...i.e. no power. any suggestions? If it were just the LCD I would try to replace it but since we have 2 seperate issues which MIGHT be MB related....sort of got me thinking

The screen going blank because of the tilit angle is probably the ribbon cable that joins the LCD screen to the motherboard.
The issue of turning off when unplugging the AC is probably the battery charging circuit and that may possibly involve the motherboard.
You have enough wrong that I would get the unit serviced by a qualified service agency. ... Thinkpads_User

Is the ribbon cable attached to the LCD or can that be replaced on its own or do you just need a new LCD which comes with the ribbon cable?
