Why isn't my Sharepoint conditional formatting working?

Okay, so, I've got a standard view displaying a list of items. I want to color code one of the cells based on the value of another field (in other words, if Checkbox A is checked, make Text B green).

The conditional formatting works perfectly while I'm working with the preview in Sharepoint Designer (2010), but once it's published, the field it's trying to check is null (I figured this out by setting the condition to check if <field> is null, and it triggered the conditional format).

I've read things about spaces in column names causing problems (which will require me to recreate almost all of my columns. Blech), so I might try that. I've also read about conditional formatting being kinda quirky on subsites (which this is).

Any thoughts?
