Adding Additional Drivers on a 2008 Print Server

It just seems I'm going around in circles in trying to add Additional drivers to a printer shared on a Win 2008 print server. I've tried drivers, Universal print drivers. It seems I've tried everything with no luck.

Ok to start, I downloaded a 64 bit driver to install the printer (HP 4050n) on the server itself. This went fine... If I try to print directly from the server no problem. The printer is shared.

I then opened the properties of the printer, clicked on the Sharing Tab, and clicked on Additional drivers (I need clients to be able to print from XP and Win7 machines).
Put a Check mark in the x86 box and clicked OK..

This Provided a driver box pops up and I browse to the downloaded HP XP/Win7 driver.  No matter what I do, I get the message to the effect "The specified location doesn't contain the driver HP Laserjet HP 4050 PCL5 for the requested processor architecture"

What am I doing wrong here? Any help is much appreciated..

You need to DL the x86 driver for the 4050 from HP and point to them

I did forget to add that, of course I downloaded the x86 drivers for the LJ printer..
Then I expanded the compressed file, put it into a folder and then pointed to it as a "Additional driver".

I think I'm going to start again from scratch... Delete both printers, download new drivers, re-install.......  I am using the print management console, but basically it users the same method- either printr \ Sharing\additional drivers or the same under printer properties..  In my first installation effort, all drivers that I selected were HP PCL 5 drivers....... Oh well, here I go again...........
"but basically it users the same method- either printr \ Sharing\additional drivers or the same under printer properties"

I was never able to get additional 32 bit drivers installed under the printer itself. To finally have this working correctly I had to use printer management. So it may not be the same process.

Got it....... Gee what a puzzle....... I installed 1 driver and now it's printing from the server, XP, and Win 7....

Bottom line is stil -- It's working.
