Excel VLOOKUP Question

Heyas,

Is there any way to perform a VLOOKUP based on whether the cell has a yellow background or not.

Thank you.

Not a straight vlookup, but you can use a workaround or a user-defined function (= some kind of macro) to do that.
Can you explain more in details what you want to do, preferably with a template file?

Thanks,

Hi Nutsch,

Essentially I have a large list of values and conditioning formatting within the cells determines what colour they are to be highlighted with i.e. 150 = red 200 = yellow etc. Essentially I would like a formula I can paste into a cell that can get first instance of cell highlighted in that colour.

Thank you
That would be the same as looking for the first cell above 200, no?
Do you want to return the value of the cell or its location? What is the complete condition for the yellow cell?

If A1>200 - Make Cell Yellow
Return the Value.
