Are you really asking about 5.3 Giga Bytes? Such number is still a pure utopia in Visual FoxPro world...<br />

If you use VFP2C32.FLL library then you may work with large files but that's probably not this case.<br />

Please note you are asking in FoxPro forum. The memo block size (in FoxPro language terms) is controled by SET BLOCKSIZE command but it seems to be far away from your question.<br />
<br />
So, what xbase are you talking about? At least two providers of software having xbase in their name exist.<br />

appologies, this question doesnt relate to fox pro.....wrong catagory!! however i have just found out that all i needed to do was reindex my db which shrunk the file so all is now well again....thanks for the response.
