My Group Policy Folder Re-direct fails to connect to the users shared folder

Hi, I have been scratching my head as to why a simple folder re-direction for a group of users is failing to work. Under User Config, Windows Settings, Folder Redirection, My Docs Properties. I have set it to Basic - Redirect everyone to \\Server\%username%$ which corresponds to a batch file run from User Config, Windows Settings, Scripts, Logon which has the line
net use h: \\server\%username%$. The batch file works fine connecting to the users folder but the folder re-direction does not!

I have also tried changing the My Docs - folder redirection to Basic - Redirect everyone to same location - Redirect to the users home directory. This also does not work

I have enabled the run command on the user group in question and have ran the command %homeshare%%homepath% and it connects to the users folder fine!

Any Suggestions are greatly received

I have also ran \\server\%username%$ and this connects to the users folder but no matter which way round I try to re-direct the My Docs Folder in Group policy it always sets the My Documents as C:\Documents and Settings\etc....

I did have a major server melt down a few months back related to group policy but I managed to resolve most of those issues. Can anyone explain why it would run the batch in the script - login fine but fail to pull in the folder re-direction?

Cheers

The GP is definately linked to an OU containing Users?

Check the rights at the server side if they are able to create the folder.

I have created two new users in the group and now both are failing to pull in any of the policy actions from the policy in that OU!!

Neither is now running the batch script and neither will re-direct the My Docs folder.  I have made sure they are members of the group and have checked that the policy id link enabled and have now ticked the enforced command to see if this has any effect. I have also tried running gpupdate /force on bothe the server and client machines!!!

My Group policy seems to have a big problem. The default domain policy has failed and I have removed it as the data inside is corrupt I have tried adding a new default domain policy but although i have removed the original from the top of the topology tree I cannot delete it and thus cannot create a new one. I have add a new policy where the delfault policy was and it seems to do nothing. I have also had to create new OU's and policies for the OU's but new user profiles are not being updated from the profiles share on the server as instructed to do, the only way around is to create the folder manualy and alow an "everyone" permission. Also some new wireless clients are not pulling any profile or group policies and just inporting the name of the account and leaving the desktop and system totally open!
