Unable to set out of office, exchange 2010

hi,
i have an exchange 2010 server and outlook clients that are local can set their out of office.

i have just setup several rpc access clients an none are able to configure the OOF from outlook, only through OWA.

they all have the same error,

Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable.  Try again later.

All other features are working normally.

From what i understand, this is an issue with the autodiscover feature in exchange.  there is a A record in place for autodiscover.domain.tld

The SSL cert is only for email.domain.tld

Thanks!

The SSL certificate failed one or more certificate validation checks.

is it possible to use a self signed cert for autodiscover.domain.tld?

No, your public cert needs to have autodiscover.company.com also.

You need public cert to make it work

You don't need anything internally. Internal user uses the SCP for autodiscovery. Check for more below

agreed, internally everything is working.

what i was wondering is whether it is possible to not have to purchase another ssl cert for autodiscover?

is there a way that i can manually force the computers that connect via RPC access to trust the a self signed cert?
