SBS 2011: Fax Routing Error

After a few weeks of working properly, our faxes no longer are being routed properly.  The routing settings are set up to use my authentication to forward the fax by email through the exchange server.

Whenever we receive a fax now, the fax service reports the event ID's 32083, 32089, and 32078, and the routing eventually fails.

Help?

How many fax devices in the server?
Is email the only routing
Are they being routed to a single user, or distribution group?

There are two fax devices: the actual device and a virtualized device that acts as a middle man for the modem to enable error correction (it is a Mainpine modem).  The physical device is not set up to receive or send.

Email is the only routing method set up.

Email is routed to a single user.

Have you tried re-running the wizard and sending to a different user as a test?

I did not find a wizard for SBS 2011.  I just set it up manually.  I did try changing the address.  It still does not route properly.

Start the SBS Console
Go to Network
Go to Device Tab
Does your fax device show up there?

Sorry I was not using the console. Yes, the fax device does show up.  Is the wizard you were refering to the "Configure the fax service" shortcut from the SBS Console?

I went ahead and tried to run the wizard.  It crashes as soon as I click on it.  I will try to restart the server a little later today and see if it helps to resolve anything.

I'm not familiar with the virtual piece that you mentioned early on and this may be the issue surrounding the crash

I would contact Mainpine support and verify as they are supposed to be "SBS Friendliy"

The other option is to uninstall the modem (and virtual device) from within Windows, shut down server, physically remove the board, start the server.  Verify any remnants of the previous setup are gone.  Shut down server, reinstall card...verify that it's available in Device Manager, then try the SBS Wizard

I suppose that is one possible issue.  However, I would think it more likely that Exchange is rejecting the emails from the fax routing.  Is there a way to ensure that Exchange does not look at anything from the fax service as spam and reject it?

Well, I still cannot run the wizard. However, I after removing and reinstalling the fax role, it seems to be working once again. Hopefully it will just keep working.

Thank you for your help.
