Sharing folders within libraries from parent site to child site

This is a follow up question to one I asked earlier.

Sharepoint 2010: Sharing document libraries from parent site to child site

Now that I have the libraries on my child sites I noticed that when I add a folder to a library once displayed on the child site i cannot see the contents of the folder. It just crashes when I click on the folder. Here is the error message that I get.

Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.

Correlation ID:eb5b7814-8c45-4db9-95be-10cc41034170

I've been running around in circles trying to solve this problem. I'm able to upload files to the library from the child sites, I'm even able to upload them into the folder from the upload box.

Can someone shed some light on the subject?

Thanks for the help.

do you have the content query webpart looking at all content types or just specific ones? Its in the web part properties where you actually configured the query

the web-part was created in the following manner:

Open the Parent site in SPD 2010.
Select "Lists and Libraries" from the left navigation pane
 Select the Child list
In the "Views" section on the right, either open an existing view (e.g. AllItems.aspx) or create a new view.
In SPD page editor, click on the view.
In the Ribbon UI, go to List View Tools -> Web Part tab
Click "To Site Gallery" from "Save Web Part" section.
Give it a name and description (e.g. "parent site list ")
Click "Yes" when the message pops up. This ensures that the web part will point to the original source (i.e. parent site)
In the browser, go to your Child site
Edit the page, insert web part through the browser ribbon.
Go to Miscellaneous section, and select the web part you saved.

I was unable to locate the content query you mentioned.

This did not fully solve my issue, but it was still helpful
