How to team-program using Netbeans - Java

Hello Guys,

A friend and I are programming a Java project using Netbeans together. We work from different places, how can we both code the same project together and keep it synced ? Any plugins/tools ?

Please help and advise, and feel free to ask if you want me to specify any details.

I found a team server plugin, that links with java.net/projects and it uses a subversion on there, is that what you guys are talking about ?

the thing is, all code will be available to everyone right ? this is my final year project and I haven't started it as yet, is there no way of making it private only to me and my friend ?
