Mudgala is tricky to find in English. You can find it here:

ASKER

Jason, thank you for the links.

the first link has just a few lines translated into English and nothing else.
and i could not find the Mudgala Purana in abebooks.

it was my mistake, that i did not point out in the opening question that it would be preferable to have the books in Sanskrit - Devnagri script or in English.
i need the books in their entirety
Well they shouldn't be difficult to find in Sanskrit. I'll keep looking...
thank you for taking your time to help me out!
Well, I found these books:

http://www.exoticindiaart.com/book/details/IDF774/
http://www.exoticindiaart.com/book/details/IHL657/

The first appears to contain a full English translation of the Ganesha. The second is a Sanskrit version of the same.

I have been unable to find any reference to an English translation of the Mudgala, although this book contains a chapter on it:  http://www.exoticindiaart.com/book/details/IHL586/ The book is written by Phyllis Granoff of yale so it might be worth a shot of trying to get in touch with her. She most certainly will be able to tell you if it is possible to find a copy.
Sorry, the author of the article on Mudgala is Phyllis Granoff. The book is written by several authors..
site is offline, i'll check again in a day
Not offline for me.

Go in on www.exoticindiaart.com and do a search for Ganesha and Mudgala. The books are:

methinks that my ISP's IP range may be banned
That's terrible. I hate regional restrictions. May I ask which country you are in?
i am from india.

searched for these two books up and down the streets of Kolkata (my home town)
but the search turned fruitless.
OK, here's two more possible sources for two of the books: The first book I found on a website in India. The second book I found on Amazon.com in America. Neither of the are very expensive.

I couldn't find the Sanskrit version of the book anywhere else, as there is no ISBN number for it. Also it was quite expensive at $55. But there is always a way to get the book if you really want it.

Here's the two books:

Ganesh Purana
Narrated By: Motilal, General Editor: V.V.B. Rama Rao & Translations By: H. Thakkar
Paperback
Richa Prakashan
ISBN 8187062495
http://www.devshoppe.com/GaneshPuran.html

Ganesh – Studies of an Asian God
by Robert L. Brown [chapter in question by Phyllis Granoff]
Hardcover (Edition: 1997)
Sri Satguru Publications
ISBN 8170305489
Size: 8.8 inch X 5.8 inch
Pages: 358 (51 B&W Illustrations)
http://www.amazon.com/Ganesh-Studies-Asian-Suny-Tantric/dp/0791406571/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307000217&sr=8-1-fkmr0

The book, Ganesh – Studies of an Asian God , is the one that has a chapter on the Mudgala.

Did you contact Phyllis?

Strange that you can't find these books in Kolkata. Did you try asking in bookshops if they can get them for you?
This may be a useful site to look through:
