AOL Desktop causing BAD_POOL_HEADER BSOD in windows 7
I have an elderly client who insists on using the AOL software to check her mail and browse the web. She has a new HP Pavillion notebook running Windows 7 home premium 64bit. I have avast running for anti-virus.
She was running AOL desktop 9.6 and working fine for a month or so. Then all of sudden she began getting a BSOD saying BAD_POOL_HEADER whenever she would try and run AOL.
I have narrowed it down to the AOL software because when that is not installed, things work fine. As soon as I install the software and it runs, we get the blue screen. I have also trayed the new AOL version 10. and get the same thing.

I tried uninstalling avast, and it still gave me the BSOD. So I did a factory restore and left the norton 60 day trial. Installed AOL and its working fine now. Guess it fixed for now. Thanks!

It seems directly related to the connectivity manager aol uses.
