VMX connection handshake failed for mks of /vmfs/volumes/

I am getting the following error on a VM when I try to reach the console screen.

VSphere says that it is on and is showing the following error:

"VMX connection handshake failed for mks of /vmfs/volumes/ ... restart VMX service"

Where can I check the logs? How do I restart the service?

Is the CMD line utility to do so where VSphere is installed? I am really new with this, and any help would be very appreciated? Thanks in advance.

I wish I could have tried this, but Manager decided to handle it. He says its the redolog got corrupt. But I have no idea what that is. Every search result says its something that has to do with Oracle DB and this is a Microsoft SQL Server DB?

The following link is what I thought was the answer since everything was identical.

the redo log is also known as the snapshot.

It's possible but the error you describe has lots of reasons.
If it's fixed, that's all that counts, and service is restored.

Not really fixed, we now have to restore a backup. Dont think the problem was resolved the best way.
oh! Cannot really advise, as I dont know whats been done here to resolve or not resolve the issue.

Yes, it was basically a conversation after I found out it was going to be resolved by someone else. Thanks for the help.
