Exchange 2010 Offline Address Book Issues
We are in the middle of an Exchange 2003 to 2010 transition. We are in the co-existence phase, all mail is going out and coming in via the new 2010 box but we still have mailboxes on the 2003 server. In EMC I changed the OAB generation server to the 2010 server and enabled web based distribution. The issue i am facing is that anyone whos mailbox is on 2010 cannot update their address book. Those who are still on 2003 can update fine. I have received the following event

Description:
OALGen failed to find the OAB version 4 manifest file '\\server.local\ExchangeOA B\7f1fa1a6 -0a45-4f6a -9a20-6ecf 1ff80e9c\o ab.xml'. This is normal if it is the first time this offline address list has been published to the file system. Check other logged events to see if this is a serious error.

Description:
OABGen encountered an error while generating the changes.oab file for version 2 and 3 differential downloads of address list '\Global Address List'. The offline address book has not been updated so clients will not be able to download the current set of changes. Check other logged events to find the cause of this error.
If the cause of the problem was intentional or cannot be resolved, OABGen can be forced to post a full offline address book by creating the DWORD registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \CurrentCo ntrolSet\S ervices\MS ExchangeSA \Parameter s\OAL post full if diff fails' and setting it to 1 on this server. When OABGen next generates the offline address book, clients will perform a full OAB download. After that time, the registry key should be removed to prevent further full downloads.

Yea the 2010 database is configured to use the default offline address book which is being generated by the new server.
Its a weird one.... just move a couple of more user mailboxes over to the new system and they can update ok - but they are using Outlook 2003 client. I'm using outlook 2010 and when i go to download offline address book it says processing in the send/ receive box but doesnt actually do anything....
