Do I have to have vCenter Server when having ESXi 4.1 host

Sorry to bother. I have allready installed ESXi to SD-card on my Proliant ML 350 G6 which has these disks for VMs.
2 x HP 146GB 10K 6G 2.5 SAS DP ENT HDD
2 x HP 1TB 6G SAS 7.2K 2.5IN MDL HDD

I have also prepared a Win7 64 bit PC to act as a vCenter Server but it seems it is not supported for vCenter.

Is the vCenter Server mandatory? I have 2 licenses for Win Web Server 2008 R2 64 bit which are going to be the Virtual Machines.
