Best way to move user profiles over a WAN connection?
We are migrating to a XenApp/Xendesktop environment with profileunity. The problem we are running into is finding out a best practice method for copying approximately 600GB worth of user profiles over a WAN connection to a different site across the country,. We have attempted using USMT but we seem to have hit a roadblock. We must make a simultaneous transition to the new environment without copying the profile twice- once from the original computer to a network share and then back to the new profile again. This would take entirely too much time. is there a better method besides just using robocopy?
Who manages the new site? You or a 3rd party? Is there any downtime for the profiles? Can you make downtime (i.e. force a scheduled maint window)?

we manage the site. this transition will happen during an 8 hour window.
Not really a good way to copy 600GB of data really to be honest over a WAN link. I would say Robocopy would be the best but you could run a backup this will compress the data a little then restore the data once on the final destination
I was going to suggest a local backup, FedEx priority overnight delivery for b4 8AM delivery. Restore backup at remote site.
Even with a dedicated 300MB pipe between the 2 locations, you couldn't transfer 600GB of compressed data in 8 hrs.
