I have a few Lenovo Thinkpad T61s with docking stations. &nbsp;Docking stations are using multiple display settings with external flat panel monitor as primary and laptop screen as secondary. &nbsp;Everything works fine until a user undocks their station and connects to a projector. &nbsp;When they return, the T61 no longer recognizes the external monitor, which has to be configured again. &nbsp;Besides creating a display profile for ease of switching back to desktop, does anyone have any idea why the T61 behaves this way? &nbsp;Running Windows XP SP3.

Everything works fine until a user undocks their station and connects to a projector.  When they return, the T61 no longer recognizes the external monitor, which has to be configured again.  Besides creating a display profile for ease of switching back to desktop, does anyone have any idea why the T61 behaves this way?  Running Windows XP SP3.

Thinkpad T61 Docking Station Display Problem

A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers, usually comprised of the display device, circuitry, casing, and power supply. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors used a cathode ray tube (CRT) about as deep as the screen size. Microsoft Windows XP is the sixth release of the NT series of operating systems, and was the first to be marketed in a variety of editions: XP Home and XP Professional, designed for business and power users. The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.
