Blackberry Enterprise Server Express 5.0.3 on Win2003 Domain controller with Exchange 2003

I am getting ready to install BESx 5.0.3 on a Windows server 2003 R2 SP2 Domain controller hosting a 2003 SP2 Exchange server.  (I know, I know running Exchange on a DC is not a good idea.  It was already that way when I started with this company).

I have read some documentation that states that I should NOT install BESx with Exchange2003 if it is on a DC but it does not say why. Is anyone here able to enlighten me with regards to this limitation?

I'm sort of stuck to work this way since management wants the BESx but they do not want to pay for a new server.

Worst case scenario, could I install it on a powerhouse win7 (Quad-core XEONs with 12GB ram) box?

Tank you for any wise advice you may be able to offer.
