Here nearby I have a cd from win7, is it possible to run a fixmbr from win7 to repair a boot record from winxp? Is the program the same?

I made a disk image to a new intel 320 ssd with acronis image software. Now when trying to boot a laptop just a small blinking minus &nbsp;appears in the left upper corner of the screen. Because of a very limited bios options I cannot see if the bios recognized the drive well, hovewer hdd self test can be run succesfully<br />

Is anything else to do before installing a new ssd in a notebook? <br />
