Cannot connect to SQL Database
Greetings-
We are running Microsoft RMS for our Point of Sale system. We have 3 locations and 2 are working just fine. The mail site I cannot get RMS to access the database. Things just started to happen like this last week. I've been trying to research the error messages but I am getting so many conflicting potential answers to the problem and have tried so many things I am afraid to move to much more forward because I might break something completely...
When I go to open the "Store Operations Manager" I get this error message first.
__________________________ __________ __________ __________ __________ ____
Error # 3709
Requested operation requires an OLE DB session object, which is not supported by the current provider.
(Source: ADODB.Command)
Update TimeCard
SET TimeOut = GetDate (), Hours = DateDiff(mi, TimeIn, GetDate()) /60.0
Where ID = ?
__________________________ __________ __________ __________ __________ ____
I click OK and then I get this:
__________________________ __________ __________ __________ __________ _____
Run-time error '3709':
Requested operation requires an OLE DB session object, which is not supported by the current provider..
__________________________ __________ __________ __________ __________ __________ _
When I got to open the "Store Operations Administrator". I get prompted to login as if I was logging into a SQL Database. I type in the "SA" password and it thinks and then gives me this error.
__________________________ __________ __________ __________ __________ _______
SSL Security error
ConnectionOpen (SECdClientHandshake())
__________________________ __________ __________ __________ __________ _____
I click OK and it puts me back to the login screen, As seen in the screen shot above.
I am totally lost... Please help...!
Thanks!

Nothing... I mean nothing... Everything's been the same for weeks...
Do you always use the sa account?
ASKER
the way that it was setup it was always like that when I took over. I tried my account and it didn't work. I was about to just add myself to all the security groups that say "allow access to SQL something"......
Then try and access it... Other then that can't think of much else I didn't already do...

The SQL was all jacked up. There were 8 instances of SQL running on the box I found. 35 databases... Most 90% doing nothing. I got on the phone with good old Microsoft tech support and it took them 5 days of grueling at it and escalating my ticket to someone who went in and deleted everything SQL related. Every Certificate, cleaned the machine up nice... IT did eventually come down to just a SSL cert. But what a ride of a bunch of screwed up databases and configuration to get there...
what software has been upgraded recently?
