Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Felix LevenSenior System and DatabaseadministratorCommented:
Have you moved any FISMO roles (maybe PDC) to another Domain Controller before the uninstall?
xeondxbAuthor Commented:
no :(
Felix LevenSenior System and DatabaseadministratorCommented:
Have you used the removal tool from MCAFEE after you uninstalled the software? I know i had to do this with AV software from other verndors.
xeondxbAuthor Commented:
no i just uninstalled from the add/remove windows control panel
xeondxbAuthor Commented:
is there anyway ??? we can fix this ??? let tell u we are using 3 servers for clustering for sharing MSA SAN storage Active Directory we are using because  some application required active directory we are not using for the local users
Felix LevenSenior System and DatabaseadministratorCommented:
The Question is, if the AV software was really the cause of yopur problem or if the MSDTC problem was just a sideeffect from restarting the server.

1. Try to uninstall AV and then use a removal tool from the AV vendor.restart server

If the service still fails you have to take a look at the cluster services.
What ServicePack is installed on the 2003 Servers?
xeondxbAuthor Commented:
we are using windows 2003 - SP2 well personally i have checked this service after installing AV before i didn't check maybe it was failed because of something else ...
xeondxbAuthor Commented:

1) Ran MSDTC -uninstall
2) Exported registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSDTC then deleted key
3) Rebooted
4) Ran MSDTC -install

will this help???
