Suggestions For 15" Wireless Digital Picture Frame

I'd like to put a wireless digital picture frame up in the reception area of my office. I'm thinking it should be about 15" and support 1024x768 or 1280 x 800 and have a wireless connection so I can transfer images to it from any computer on my LAN. I have a recessed AC outlet built into the wall where I'd like to place the frame (there's an electric clock mounted there now) so it can be powered by AC (as long as the power "brick", if it has one is small enough to fit into the recessed AC outlet)

It would also be neat if it had some sort of feature that allowed it to display live internet content.

All of the frames I have seen at Best-Buy and Staples are USB only.

Any suggestions?

I'm in Ontario, Canada.

I thought about that. I like the idea but I can't justify the amount of effort involved.

The second link seems to be the ticket but it's out of stock (and production I think)... was introduced in 2007 and has a lot of terrible reviews pointing out how many of the advertised features don't work. But the advertised features seem to be exactly what I'm looking for and more.

Hopefully, there's a new generation of similar products available.

It's encouraging that such a product exists though. Being able to push content to the frame is very useful for lots and lots of applications.

One application that I thought was approaching killer status was to be able to install a device (or two) in your parents' home and then push video and pictures of the grandchildren to it. The device itself should only have an on/off button so the parents wouldn't have to deal with any setup.

I would have expected Apple to have something like this available for $1000 a pop.

Great article. Of course the ones that seem to meet my requirements can't be hung on a wall. 15" screens seem rare as does 1024 x 768 or higher resolution.

I'm starting to think a low cost all-in-one is a way to go.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have cooled to this idea for the time being and hoping something might be released that could use my LAN which is both wired and wireless.

A year later and it looks like wifi enabled digital picture frames have gone the way of the dodo bird. My local photo store have suggested that Tablets are responsible for killing this market.

Thanks for all of the feedback.

For some reason, I have two open question on this so I'm closing this one.

The other thread is over here:

I updated it today to report back on my experience with a discontinued Motorola frame.

The best solution is still an all-in-one computer unless Apple release a 15" iPad this year.
