Panasonic DP-8035 Windows 7 x64

I desperately need help with this one...

We have a Panasonic DP-8035 MFP/Copier connected to our network. I have Windows Vista Bus and XP Pro machines successfully printing to it, and have had so for years. I do recall having a great deal of difficulty getting it to work on the Vista machines, and what works for one PC doesn't always work on another.

I recently added a Windows 7 Pro (x64) to that department and now I need to deploy 2 more Win7 machines. For the life of me I cannot get these Windows 7 machines to print to it. I have downloaded what seem to be the appropriate drivers for it, 2.05.087.e from http://panasonic.net/pcc/support/mfp/dp-8060/pcl/download.html . I have tried the PCL both with and without installer. Also read the Printer Driver Installation Guide for Windows 7/Server 08 R2.

Printer appears to install correctly. The installer even correctly locates the mfp on the network and I don't have to specify the IP (Of course, I have specified the IP in various trials). I have tried RAW and LPR port configurations and even RPT Network Port configuration.

Under all scenarios, I am unable to print anything from any program, including test pages from the printer properties. I do not receive any errors. I have verified appropriate permissions are in place. I am able to print to other network printers without issue. I have noticed that when I print to those, Windows pops up saying the document was sent to the printer. With the Panasonic however, I do not receive said notification bubble like I do when printing elsewhere.

I havent seen this issue, but since you are able to get vista working try the 64 bit vista drivers.

The Vista and Windows 7 64bit drivers appear to be the same. That does raise a good point though, the Vista machines that I do have working are 32-bit and not 64bit
I am guessing you do direct IP printing over server printing?

Something you may try is add the 64 bit driver to a vista machine and see if the win 7 computer can print over the shared printer.  It could be an issue with the driver version even.

I actually prefer server printing, however since all of my servers are 64bit it hasn't worked out thus far. I believe they only recently released these x64 drivers. I do not prefer to have one of the client machines act as a print server because then there can be availability issues, but that is something I will try as a troubleshooting step and/or temporary fix.

I do recall trying to do something similar back when I had Vista issues with no success, but that was a different issue altogether.

Keep the thoughts coming, I'll post updates once I try the Shared Printing thing

Okay so I shared the Panasonic from a 32bit Vista machine. I tried to install the 64bit driver from the additional drivers menu but it said the processor architecture was not supported. Tried to install the shared printer on the Windows 7 machine and it said no drivers found, I tried to browse manually to the 64bit driver but received an error that the driver didn't match.

For giggles I tried to install the 32bit driver on the Windows 7 x64 machine, no dice.
I agree with everything you said just wanted to see if one that you knew was working would work.. interesting it wouldnt allow you to add the 64 bit driver.
I have a feeling it is more of an issue with bad 64 bit drivers now than being win 7

At the advice of a friend, on a long shot I ran the installer version in compatibility mode (chose Windows Vista SP2) and Run As Administrator. Received an error regarding a missing file during install, but installation completed successfully. Still not able to print though.
It has to be a bad package then.  I am guessing you would get the same results on your 64 bit server correct?

I remember a few months ago trying to install/configure the printer on the x64 server and again it installed fine, but was unable to print. Same issue.
You may lose functionality but what about trying the HP4 built in driver?

With HP4 driver, it installed without error, still no print functionality
I got nothing else if that didnt work either.  I Hope some one else comes in as I'd like to see a solution on this in case I ever see it.
