you have to analyse the System an Application Logs in the Event Viewer.<br />
Maybe there is a problem with the time and date.<br />

I have SharePoint 2007 and SQL 2008 on a Windows 2003 server. Recently, I moved this server from a physical box to a virtual machine running on VMWARE ESXi 4.<br />

Since then, every time the server is rebooted, the owstimer.exe process uses 100% CPU. I can kill the process and then it comes back on line but behaves normally. I believe the owstimer process is related to Sharepoint.<br />
