Cash Drawer using com port emulater stop responding with Windows 7
I have a POS computer that is a Windows 7 64bit machine. I have a Logic Controls USB cash drawer plugged into it. I have installed the drivers from the Logic Control website . The software provided by the cash drawer company is a Com port emulator. It makes the cash drawer appear in device manager as a COM3 device. It works beautifully after a reboot., but after a while it just stops popping. I have turned off the hybrid sleep mode and every other power saving feature I can find; however, it still just stops working with out any error messages throughout the day. My POS software calls a batch file that basically sends an ascii code to COM 3. I suspect that maybe something is falling asleep. I can't confirm that at all.
