Stop the DNS client service on the machine.  If it starts working then you still have an infection.

I am only posting this as a more comprehensive sample of the "TDSSKiller" suggestion - NOT for points.

It has a direct link to the tool and a few more instructions.
**********

For Hijacking/re-directs, you might want to start with TDSSKILLER found here:
http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.zip

* Download the file TDSSKiller.zip and extract it into a folder on the infected (or potentially infected) PC.
* Execute the file TDSSKiller.exe.
* Wait for the scan and disinfection process to be over. You do not have to reboot the PC after the disinfection is over.

If the tool finds a hidden service it will prompt you to type "delete",  you can also just hit "Enter" without typing in and the scan will continue...
Please post the log to be analyzed.
Let us know the results and we can take the next steps.

@jimxox,

In addition to the scan suggested above, you should also do a full malware scan following the steps shown in these EE Articles:

https://www.experts-exchange.com/A_1940.html (Basic Malware Troubleshooting)
https://www.experts-exchange.com/A_5124.html (Stop-the-Bleeding-First-Aid-for-Malware)

Your help has saved me hundreds of hours of internet surfing.

If none will run, then use ComboFix
Also rename if it doesn't run at first.

Please download ComboFix by sUBs:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log and attach it in your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

No joy?

Try Rootkit Unhooker to check if any drivers are patched e.g., volsnap.sys etc.
http://www.kernelmode.info/ARKs/RKUnhookerLE.EXE

• Please download Rootkit Unhooker and save it to your desktop.
• Doubleclick on RKUnhookerLE.exe to run it.
• Click the "Report" tab, then click Scan.
• Checkmark Drivers, Stealth. Uncheck the rest and then click OK.
• Wait till the scanner has finished and then click File, Save Report.
• Post the report here.

!!POSSIBLE ROOTKIT ACTIVITY DETECTED!! =)

Yes, that's normal, when CF noticed that RC is not installed it will ask if you want it installed. It's recommended for RC to be installed because there are nasties that  ComboFix will not autofix unless RC is installed.

UnHooker didn't flagged patched files but alerted of possible rootkit activity.

Can you try running TDSSKiller again and rename it to larry.com (you would need to uncheck "Hide extensions of known types" in explorer > folder Options > View.

If TDSSKiller still won't run, try this:
Download aswMBR.exe ( 511KB ) to your desktop.
http://public.avast.com/~gmerek/aswMBR.exe

Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it
Click the "Scan" button to start scan

On completion of the scan click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply

Try running rkill twice, then tdsskiller.

if that doesn't work, you can burn Trinity Rescue Kit and run the CLAMAV automated virus destroyer.

Please click on "Start-->Run". Type "devmgmt.msc" and Click on OK. This will run Device Manager. In Device Manager, click on "View-->Show Hidden Devices".

Please expand all the devices by click on the "Plus" sign. Now try to find "TDSSserv.sys" right click Disable. Please make sure that you do not select the Un-Install option otherwise infection will be back once you reboot your computer.
