Resubnetting - subnet mask change
We have a client we are changing their DHCP scope from 254 hosts:
Subnet Address: 192.168.1.0
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
To 510 hosts:
Subnet Address: 192.168.1.0
Subnet Mask: 255.255.254.0
Can we make the change for the subnet mask on the Cisco ASA before the DHCP scope change/activation? Will it impact anything on the network to make that change before changing the scope over? Any other suggestions we should do or know before the change over?

Just make sure you don't already have a 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 network.

However, 192.168.1.0 is not on a CIDR boundary. I don't know that the ASA will accept an off-boundary configuration.
You could do 192.168.0.0 255.255.254.0 which does fall on a CIDR boundary.
