oracle 10g personal/express edition
i would like to use the 'free' download for oracle 10g personal/express ediition. However, my personal laptop is Vista and for what i've read on the Oracle site for ths product, it does not work on Vista. Does anyone know if you can run it on Vista?

- try download the one with "Universal" - Oracle Database Express Edition (Universal).
- as pointed in the link provided by sligthwv, run the setup with the special setting or right click the installer and choose to run as "Administrator". after doing the pre-requisite check, it might prompt that it fail. t
click the check boxes next to the errors. this will change them to say "User Verified." then click "Next" to continue.

i tried the 'universal' download... when i click on the downloaded file, it asks me to 'choose the programy ou want to use to open this file'... OracleXEUniv
What program should be used... i assumed that if this was a true 'setup' it would simply launch into the install, but it doesn't.

The OracleXEUniv download file, under properties, shows it's description to be a setup launcher...
