Outlook and Hotmail issues after upgrading Connector
I upgraded to the latest Outlook Connector for Hotmail, and now receive errors when Outlook attempts to sync with Hotmail, saying that the Network operation failed (0x80004005). See the screenshot below.
I have tried:
- Ensuring SSL is turned off
- Running a repair of the Connector installation
- Uninstalling the Connector, and reinstalling via Windows Live Essentials

I don't have any Norton / Symantec software installed. Using Microsoft Security Essentials.
if you want you can just remove it completely and use pop/smtp to get your mail pop.live.com
