Is toner leakage normal for a laser printer? [HP LaserJet M1217nfw]
I just purchased an HP LaserJet M1217nfw and found that some documents ended up with toner on raised edges. For example, on an envelope, there are slightly raised edges in some places due to folding and gluing of the paper. In an attempt to diagnose the issue, I eventually found myself printing a blank document 15 times to a fresh sheet of paper to see what would happen. I found that the white sheet turned gray after my test. I have attached an image that should explain what I'm talking about. The sheet is behind a blank, unprinted sheet for comparison. Also, I've turned the corner in on the blank sheet to show that it did start completely white.
My question is: is this normal for laser printers, is it due to a mechanical problem, or should I just choose a new printer and send this back?
