Return to Windows 7 Appearance Through Registry Editor
How do I enable the Appearance and Personalization menu in Windows 7 through the registry editor? Mainly, I want to return to the Windows 7 appearance. I'm stuck in classic view right now. Thanks!

Is your computer not allowed to change the theme? Normally, one does not need / should not use the registery just to change themes. ... Thinkpads_User

No it was disabled by groupware policy settings I think. I just successfully enabled the ability to change the desktop background and now I really want to know how to get back to the Windows 7 appearance.
Theme and background appearance are different (as I think of them). So if your group policy prevents, it likely won't allow you to use the registry to change it. You will probably have to live with your company settings.
