Symantec Backup Inbox restore issues

Hello,
We are tying to restore emails to an inbox. We are using Backup Exec 12. Windows server 2003 std. and running exchange 2003.
When i took at the back i have of the datastore. the inbox has hundreds of emails that is says it backed up when in reality the inbox only had 10 or so emails in it.
How can i know what to restore without restoring so many emails from who knows when?
Thank you. 1

Thank you for your reply,
Even though when I check the inbox i want restored then unchecked 'include sub directories' It looks like it still puts a check to restore ALL these emails. I just want to restore the emails that were in the users inbox the day of the backup. I'm not sure where all of these emails are coming from in the backup.
If i run it like this will it only restore the messages that were there the day the backup was taken? 2
