Steps to restore distribution database and how to control transaction log of subscriber database in read only transactional replication

What are the steps required to restore distribution database backup in transactional replication. I have gone through all the microsoft documentation but could not find the steps to restore it. Please also suggest the situations when restore of distriubtion database is necessary.

Secondly, I am not taking backups of the subscriber database as it is being reinitialized from publisher in case of faliure. But, in this case how to keep transaction log growth in control? Should I rely on Shrink Database and rebuild/reorganize indexes process to keep it under control.

Your early reply in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

for 2nd question,  set subcriber database's recovery model to SIMPLE should do.

for 1st question,  I can't find the answer myself yet. Most likely, if restore distributor database, I might need to re-initial all subscriber.  Since data which log reader already read, won't be read again from Publisher server.
